Founder -- Ripple; A beautiful blue ticked tabby with blue-green eyes and smooth, sleek fur.
Welcome to RippleClan -- home of the stealthy and powerful. Like the river that is their home, these cats can one day be soft and bubbly and the next swift and churning. The river provides the Clan food, water, and protection. Camp is set on a piece of land that is nearly an island completely surrounded by river, similar to a moat. The camp walls are made of reeds, cattails, and stones. Prickly foxtail and thistles protect the entrance, as if the water surrounding them wasn't discouraging enough to enemies.
Most dens are made of swaths of ferns and cattail stalks, the nests finely lined with feathers and comfortable cattail fluff. Clan meetings are held beneath the Willow Tree. Its drooping branches and leaves close around a dry mound in camp, perfect for discussing Clan meetings and holding ceremonies. The medicine cat's den is located within a shallow cave of a stone wall, providing crevices just large enough to prevent the herb storage from getting soaked. The nursery is probably the driest den in camp, next to the medicine cat's den. It is made of a briar patch which blossoms into white flowers during newleaf and greenleaf. The leader's den is found at the base of the Willow Tree's trunk in a bed of reeds and ferns. The elder's den is made up of driftwood from an old beaver dam upriver, and beside that is the freshkill pile.
Prey consists of fish and minnows, frogs, waterfowl, and water voles. Sometimes if a cat is lucky, they can catch water adders as well. But these are usually difficult to catch without getting bitten. Outside camp is a swift-flowing river with a pebbly bottom and muddy banks. During even the hottest greenleaf, the river still flows, offering the Clan a constant food supply to last through all seasons. However it does freeze over in leafbare, and the Clans are tempted to cross into other Clans' borders to snatch what they can to survive.
The rest of our territory is marshy ground scattered with bogs, fallen trees, and stones. So you can imagine we don't stray too far from the river, usually.
Our landmarks:
Tussock Rock -- a large rock just within the RippleClan-SunClan border where cats can go to hunt voles and waterfowl, as well as sneak a glimpse of SunClan territory. Apprentices are brought here to practice observation skills. Watch out for sunning adders!
Lightning Tree -- a pale, bare tree standing many fox-lengths upward. Its branches jar out randomly from its bony trunk, and it has been the victim of many lightning bolts. Beneath it is a barren hollow, providing a decent location to battle train.
Beaver Dam -- occasionally a beaver dam forms upriver to the point that the waterlevel lowers. Patrols are sent here frequently to scout for beavers, and must carefully shoo them off and destroy the dam so as not to lose their river. Before, RippleClan has needed the help of the other two Clans to chase out a powerful beaver colony that threatened to snuff out the entire river in the past, though this was long ago.
Due to the other Clans' dislike for water, RippleClan camp has never been raided before. But they have used the river to their advantage in battle before. Forcing your opponent into the water during battle is almost always a sure-fire victory, as they fear the water. If not, forcing their faces beneath the surface for a moment then releasing them is usually enough to frighten them off. RippleClan cats grow plump on their fish supply and are the heaviest cats within the territories. But they are blessed with webbed paws and strong, rudder-like tails.
